With more than 30 years of litigation consulting experience, Mr. Nutten serves as one of DM&A’s experts on damage issues, business valuation matters, and fraud investigations.

Mr. Nutten specializes in the analysis and measurement of economic damages, forensic accounting investigations, and business valuations.  Additionally, he regularly consults with his clients on case development and discovery issues.  Mr. Nutten has testified in deposition and trial throughout California and in New York on over one hundred occasions regarding the results of his analyses.

Before joining DM&A, Mr. Nutten gained valuable experience as a management consultant at Price Waterhouse, BDO Seidman, Peterson Consulting, and Biggs & Co.  Further, Mr. Nutten has practical experience managing financial statement compilations, reviews, and audits, and has prepared tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.

Mr. Nutten is a Certified Public Accountant, Accredited in Business Valuation, a Certified Management Accountant, and a Certified Fraud Examiner.  He maintains membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Institute of Management Accountants, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.  Mr. Nutten has served as a professor of Financial and Managerial Accounting in the undergraduate and graduate programs at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Mr. Nutten earned a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Southern California with an emphasis in finance, and holds a master’s degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University with a concentration in finance and entrepreneurial organizations.  Mr. Nutten is a regular speaker on topics related to economic damages and business valuation.
