Mr. Knapp joined DM&A in 2025 and has nearly two decades of business valuation experience. Previously, he held various valuation roles in the private sector and as a lead valuation analyst at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). During his career, Mr. Knapp has assisted and educated business owners, attorneys, and auditors regarding the valuation of closely-held business interests. He has experience across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, retail, wholesale, technology, and healthcare. Mr. Knapp’s valuation analyses and reports have been prepared for purposes of estate and gift tax, charitable contributions, litigation support, and transaction advisory. He has successfully defended his opinions of value at the IRS appeals level while in the private sector and with the Service.
Mr. Knapp has been a member of the American Society of Appraisers since 2012. He is a former treasurer and board member of the Princeton, New Jersey Chapter of the American Society of Appraisers. Mr. Knapp lives in the greater Philadelphia region with his wife and two sons. He enjoys trips to the beach with his family and coaching his sons in baseball.
